Man shot dead in Sydney's south-west

A man has been shot dead in Sydney's south-west overnight in what's believed to be a targeted attack.

Police responded to reports of shots fired at Broughton Street in Canterbury at 2am this morning, where they found a man in his 20s severely wounded.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene, though despite their efforts, he was soon pronounced dead.

The man is yet to be formally identified.

Detectives are urging anyone who was in the vicinity at roughly 2am today or has information or dashcam vision to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
