Teen girl dies days after two-car collision

A teenage girl has died days after a two-car crash north-west of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.

At about 2.30pm on June 10, a sedan and a four-wheel drive collided on Miva Road in Gunalda, near Gympie.

The passenger in the sedan, a 15-year-old Curra girl, was airlifted to the Queensland Children's Hospital.

Gympie crash

She died in the hospital, police reported yesterday evening.

The driver of the sedan, a 23-year-old man from Belmore River in New South Wales, remains in Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a serious condition.

Police continue to investigate the crash.

Any witnesses or anybody with dashcam footage is urged to come forward.
