The 10-year-old Sydney boy seriously injured in the Sea World helicopter crash has suffered a "major setback" to his recovery.
Nicholas Tadros, who was taken off life-support a week ago, may now need to have his right foot amputated, after an operation scheduled for yesterday, could not go ahead.
Family friend Charlie Bakhos shared an update on Facebook yesterday, saying it was a "major blow".

"Nicholas' operation couldn't be completed today and have comeback with some sad news," Bakhos said via Facebook.
"Nicholas may need to have his right foot amputated.
'He will need all your prayers over the next couple weeks before surgeons try again."

The boy's mother, Sydney woman Vanessa Tadros died in the crash on January 2 along with British nationals Ron and Diane Hughes, 65 and 57, who only recently wed.
The helicopter's pilot Ash Jenkinson, 40, who'd been working at Sea World since 2019 and mentored friends in the aviation industry, also perished in the crash.
Family and friends attended the funeral for Nicholas' mother on Monday held at Saint John the Beloved in Mount Druitt.

"We really need to continue praying for Simon Tadros as well to get him through this tough time as he will have to face Nicholas in the coming days to let him know his mum been taken to heaven and also let him know that he may be losing a foot," Bakhos said.
"This will be a major blow to Nicholas' mental state of mind."
