Victorians will need to scale back New Year's Eve celebrations after recording another three new community coronavirus cases today.
The new cases come after three COVID-19 cases were identified yesterday, the first locally acquired cases in Victoria in 61 days.
Acting Premier Jacinta Allan said more information about the new cases would become available throughout the day, but yesterday's were linked to the Smile Buffalo Thai restaurant in Black Rock in Melbourne's Bayside area.
Ms Allan said the infections most likely occurred December 21.
"On that night, one case and close contacts of cases attended this restaurant, as did a returned traveller from New South Wales," she said.
"That traveller is been tested as a matter of urgency today, and working with New South Wales Health to investigate their movements in New South Wales."
Ms Allan said anyone who has visited the restaurant should be tested as soon as possible.
Masks will become mandatory indoors again in Victoria from 5pm and private gatherings are now reduced from 30 to 15.
