More than 6000 Christmas casual jobs are on offer as retailers around the country prepare for a package and online-dominated seasonal rush.
In anticipation of its biggest Christmas ever, Australia Post is hiring more than 4000 people to help deliver what it expects to be a record level of parcels.
Around 2900 of the jobs will be around the country in the areas of transport and deliveries, while 300 fixed full-time jobs will be based in Brisbane, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Queensland.

It will be the biggest one-time hiring spree in the organisation's 210-year history.

Joining Australia Post is alcohol retailers Dan Murphy's and BWS, who are hiring 1600 Christmas casual roles to start immediately.
Dan Murphy's is seeking more than 1000 casual team members in customer assistance roles across all of its 242 stores.
BWS is looking to add over 600 Christmas casuals to help team members cope with the rush of seasonal shopping.
To be eligible, applicants must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid RSA (a certification that ensures the responsible service of alcohol).

COVID-19 COMPETITION TO BE FIERCE
Jobseekers looking to pick up work in the wake of mass COVID-19-related layoffs have complained that while summer hiring drives are good, the competition for entry-level roles is overwhelming.
Last year, Australia Post reported that it received more than 23,000 applications for Christmas casual positions.
Earlier in the year, Australia Post opened 1000 casual positions to cope with a dramatic rise in online shopping.

They received more than 50,000 applications – or some 50 applications competing for every single role.
Executive General Manager People & Culture at Australia Post Sue Davies said Christmas will be far different in the wake of COVID-19 restrictions.
"This is a record-breaking recruitment drive for what we expect to be a Christmas unlike any we've had before in Australia Post's history," Ms Davies said.
"In a year that has been incredibly challenging and impacted people in many ways, we are delighted to be inviting people to join us this Christmas as we deliver across the country."
