A NSW Police officer has been charged with possessing child abuse material.
Detectives searched his house at Horsley in Wollongong yesterday, after an investigation by the Professional Standards Command (PSC).
A number of electronic and storage devices were seized which will undergo forensic examination, NSW Police said.
A 38-year-old senior constable was arrested at the home and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where he was charged with one count of access and possess child abuse material.
He was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Wollongong Local Court on June 16.
